Creston READS Program - Gwen Buck, Program Coordinator

"THANK YOU" to all volunteers who participate in Creston Dollars for Scholars READS program! Over 40 READS volunteers (Reading Buddies) provide educational support to Creston first graders by reading with them each week!  We appreciate you taking time from your busy schedules to participate in this program.

Thank you to BUNN O MATIC CORP, SWCC, Northwest Bank, ISSB, and Iowa Focus for encouraging & supporting READS volunteers to participate. Special thanks to the Creston Kiwanis Club for providing books for students at Christmas.  The students and faculty enjoy and look forward to your visits. You ALL make a difference!

Creston Essay Program

Each year Creston Dollars for Scholars sponsors an essay contest for 4th-8th grade students attending Creston public school, Mayflower Heritage Christian school, and St. Malachy school.  Contest winners are awarded $50 to be used toward future educational goals; over $1000 is awarded! Educators at individual schools will assist us with this process in the spring of 2025. Awards will be presented to students at the end of year assemblies in May 2025.
